Goodbye 2014

One year passes and another begins. I must say, New Years is my favorite of all holidays because I love a fresh start. Something about the count down and the anticipation makes me feel like anything could be possible. There are a lot of big changes coming for me this year. Between moving, starting my own business and finding new homes for my artwork I wonder how I'll find the time to knit! But I do love a challenge. For now I would like to toast you, 2015! May you bring even more growth and learning, more mistakes to learn from, more friends, more art, more love, more yoga poses, and more adventures! We had a good run 2014, I still love you.

Lake Week

Every summer, my boyfriends family rents a cottage on Alexander's Lake in Dayville, CT. This years lake week officially kicks off this Saturday. So, in honor of summer and family and lake time fun I am sharing (most of) a roll of film from last year.

Ms. Unreliable

Hi. Don't be mad at me for not posting in so long. I got really busy and forgot how to use the internet. But I'm back from my travels a bit wiser and a lil more ambitious.

Last year I got a job for a photography company in Norwich, CT. I drove all over the place and took photos of dancers. Most of the jobs were in NYC but I got to see some other really cool places too... like Washington, D.C. I drove on many roads and crossed many bridges and slept in many hotel rooms. The time in between photo shoots got really lonely and I missed my life here in CT.

I eventually decided to leave that job and found a more local one. I now work at a vegan friendly restaurant in Danielson called Heirloom Food Co. and I absolutely love it! I'm learning how to make all sorts of yummy, healthy foods and have made so many new friends.

Seamus and I have moved again! We now live in a tiny apartment in Hampton, CT. We are cozy as can be and loving this old timey town.

My last piece of news is perhaps the most exciting... me and my dear friend Marissa have started a photography business together called Treehouse Imagery. I am so excited to be in business with such an awesome girl. We shot our first wedding last month and it was a blast.

So, that is the abridged version of the past year. I've been keeping up with my art projects too. A couple months ago I was in the QVCC alumni art show at the Silver Circle gallery in Putnam. It was great to show old friends what I'm up to now.

For those of you who don't like words, here is the past year in pictures!!!

I am back!

Sorry I have been gone so long!

The past couple months have been a whirlwind of highways and hotels. I got a job as a traveling dance photographer and it took over for a while, but none of that matters now. All that matters is that Seamus and I live together and today we planted a garden!

My new home is in Eastford, Connecticut and it is adorable. Absolutely perfect for us... although, there are a lot of ants :( Anyway, my wonderful brother-in-law, Rudy, took time on Father's Day to build a raised bed and my sister Beth gave me some plants, they packed my truck up with dirt and lavender from their new house, and they sent me off to plant my very first garden. I love those guys. Seamus's brother gave us some more tomato plants which is good because I just adore tomatoes!

Here are some pictures of the new garden :)

I am so worried that the soil was too wet when I planted. We have been having some terrible thunderstorms. All I can do is hope for the best and try to take care of my little plants. I'll be posting garden updates regularly because this is the most exciting part of my life!

Sheep

These pictures are from last weekend. My sister had her sheep sheered!!! I love the sheep sheering events at Beth's house. It is always so cool to see the sheep before and after their haircuts.

This last one is just cute.
